Welcome to our website! We are pleased that you have taken time to allow us to introduce ourselves. We are a small family run hobby/show home. Our family consists of Bryan my two sons Guy and Luke, our daughter in law Karina and our latest addition, our wonderful granddaughter Bria.
We live in the small village of Hawthorn and our nearest town is the historical market town of Pontypridd which is known as the gateway to the Rhondda valleys.
An insight into Pontypridd’s history and close links with the coal and the iron industries can be found at Rhondda Heritage Park.
The area is surrounded by many other historical landmarks. Castell Coch is situated just a short distance away.
Second, only to Windsor castle in the UK for size, the Norman castle dominates the nearby town of Caerphilly with its very own leaning tower!
These are just a few places of interest and not forgetting of course that Pontypridd is most famous for the singing legend Tom Jones! Or at least some may think so……
Bryan has the real obsession with animals at Croftthorn and has been involved with livestock since a teenager. He has bred and shown budgerigars very successfully and flown birds of prey but as a result of a severe skin condition irritated by handling the birds, Bryan has now transferred his efforts to his passion for Bulldogs. Bryan had great success in breeding and showing his budgerigars and attributes this to his close understanding of genetics and line breeding which he hopes to put to good use with the bulldogs.

It was Gaynor however who was the driving force behind the purchase of our first bulldog Mr Bumble which can be attributed to her strong maternal instinct and empty nest syndrome! We both fell instantly in love with Mr Bumble ( Bridlewood Buckleberry at Croftthorn) and the rest is history as they say. We soon realised that bulldogs were addictive and Miss Darcy soon followed.
Our plans for the future is to tend our small breeding home and to participate in as many championship and open shows as our busy working life will allow. It is already obvious that Miss Darcy is the show off and loves the show ring and her results so far have been excellent. We plan to breed healthy puppies which conform to the Bulldog breed standard.
